19 Dec A look back on 2016
We’ve come a long way since last Christmas. Our year is full of memories made in person, on the new website, and in the new studio. We have a lot to look forward to in 2017!
But, before we get ahead of ourselves looking to the new year, we’re going to reflect on our six favorite memories from 2016, in no particular order:
In the spring, we captured Whiskey Business for Porchfly Clothing. It’s a fun, light-hearted take on Tom Cruise’s famous moves in the movie, Risky Business. In July, Porchfly Clothing returned the creative favor and featured us in Raleigh Hustles Hard. Porchfly did a great job of sharing our story, and we are grateful to continuing partnering with them for fun, creative shoots!
This commercial is titled “Wide Eyed Little Girl,” and it’s easy to see why. It tells the story of a little girl who grows up to become exactly what she always wanted to be – an acclaimed southern wedding planner, now known as Orangerie Events. The Orangerie Events team specializes in planning and designing destination weddings.
Located in Raleigh, Artspace is a non-profit visual art center that inspires “innovation through opportunities to experience the creative process and engage with artists.” We were able to help Artspace celebrate its 30th anniversary through this piece that reflects on what the collaborative space in downtown Raleigh is all about.
Raleigh-based Laut Design is a product and brand design firm with a broad range of clients and work product. This commercial takes viewers through the Laut Design product process, paying close attention to the details the team is able to provide to its clients.
Sturdy Brothers x Corey Mason
This first installment of a video series featuring real makers and artists using Sturdy Brothers products to help them create. Corey Mason is an abstract artist based in Raleigh, NC. His process is intense and immersive and you can see his heart and soul poured out on every canvas he creates.
For our final project of the year, we went onsite at Angus Barn to capture the magic of Christmas, as told through the train theme in full display throughout the restaurant. Our talented team member, Katelyn, allowed us to feature both her family and her incredible voice for the commercial.
So there’s our look back at 2016 – what was your favorite Portico Pictures event or productions from the year?
